Fortunately for me, I spent my childhood with adults that had a deep appreciation of God’s creations both made directly and the best of what mankind has made. My exposure to the outdoors, to wild and domestic creatures and the beauty of world music, art and culture have helped develop in me a desire to express the wonder of how I see nature, humanity and the rhythms of life. In me my father has breathed his love of life, his joyfulness his kindness and tireless search for knowledge. My hope is to bring a bit of these essences into my art
What you will find from me is a pulling together of many materials, collections of a sort, gathered, thoughtfully arranged and applied then most likely taken apart, cut, torn, sanded and rearranged and reapplied until perhaps after many layers I arrive at point of satisfaction. Satisfied at the reflection of my efforts, for the moment.
I am a founding member of MMIA, Mixed Media Inspired Artists, a group of like minded artists who have been studying art with Sandra Paynter Washburn. We exchange ideas, critique our art, explore mediums, travel together and have juried art shows together.
