“Growing up with a mother who loved creating beautiful things out of cloth and fiber helped launch me into the wonderful world of beads.  I have been making original beaded jewelry out of semi-precious gems, hand-crafted lampwork beads, pearls, silver, gold, and seed beads since 2000.

I decided to get reacquainted with the right side of my brain.  Since I always had an appreciation for hand-made jewelry, I took courses in silversmithing and enjoyed learning how to design and craft silver jewelry.  However, my silversmithing days were numbered, since after taking early retirement, my husband and I sold our home in Atlanta, and traveled the country in our motorcoach for several years.

During our travels, I went to a beading workshop and was instantly hooked!  I discovered that for me, there is something intensely sensual about working with beads – the many colors, the diverse textures, and the vast variety of combinations that can be utilized to make a thing of beauty.”

Marian has taken many beading workshops from nationally-known beading artists.  She’s also completed the Precious Metal Certification I class. She enjoys teaching and has taught several beginning and advanced beading classes.

Her work has been shown in several galleries in Arizona, prior to her recent move to Chattanooga. She was secretary and president of the northern chapter  of Arizona Designer Craftsman, and vice-president of the High Desert Bead Society  She was also the featured artist in the annual state-wide Arizona Designer Craftsman juried show.
